Storytelling is how we help shape the world.
At the National Harm Reduction Coalition (NHRC), internationally known for its groundbreaking trainings, messaging, and capacity building support with and for the harm reduction movement, I am fortunate to serve as the communications manager where I manage all communications work.
Working alongside people with lived and living experience and other advocates working to end overdose, I am proud to be part of an international, intersectional movement focused on creating a world where people who use drugs, their loved ones, and all people are able to live full, healthy, authentic lives free from fear.

Our collective work creating space for dialogue and action that help heal the harms caused by racialized drug policies takes shape in many forms, from international media interviews and campaigns to prevention strategies and legislative victories — and keeps the people closest to these issues at the heart of everything we do.
Storytelling is a catalyst for change. We've seen how it has shaped the movement to end overdose and the racist, so-called "War on Drugs," and we have more work to do. Through amplifying the voices of those most impacted, whether through print, news media, photos, video, or social media, stories reverberate and send ripples through our collective consciousness. If you can picture change, it is possible.
